10 Pet-Friendly Plants That Are Safe For Your Pets!

Staghorn Fern

I am currently obsessing over Staghorn Ferns! They prefer to grow attached to something above ground like a tree. One of the most popular ways to grow them indoors is mounted on a board, which is so cool to me!

These bad boys also grow to be fairly large and like to be in shaded areas. This plant will probably be my next undertaking.

Pilea Peperomioides

I love Pilea aka the UFO Plant! They have such interesting leaves and push out new plant babies like it's its job! This plant is also pretty easy to care for (for all my beginner plant parents).

Polka Dot Plant

I first found out about the polka dot plant when I was over at my Boyfriend's mom's house! I walked past and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the beautiful pink dots. I had no idea this type of plant existed until then. I realized that I had to have it. To be honest, I have already killed one, but I did not give up. I needed to try again.

I think I finally found the perfect spot for it and I am absolutely in love with this plant!

Ponytail Palm

Ponytail palm or Beaucarnea recurvata is a great beginner plant and can also grow to be very large (example can be seen in the photo...omg right?). My grandma has a knack for plants and if you have been following along you have probably seen a couple of her older plants.

This ponytail palm has been around longer than I have. I remember constantly being told not to play with the leaves or "snakes" as my siblings and I called them.

Marimo Moss Balls

So this guy a little different, but I'm still obsessed! Marimo moss balls live entirely in water. I'm not lying they are probably the easiest plant to take care of. You basically just need to change the water out. They are fuzzy little algae that live in a jar of water.

Hot Tip: You can cork the top of the jars for an added terrarium effect.

Spider Plant

I love me a vintage-looking plant. These plants have been around for a while and you have probably seen them in your grandma's home. Spider plants are super easy to care for and are a great hanging plant!

Venus Fly Trap

If you are a carnivorous plant kind of person, the Venus fly trap is a perfect option for you! They are probably one of the most popular carnivorous plants and as an added plus they'll eat those pesky flies flying around! I think the fact that this plant really feels alive intrigues me. Also, they give off Super Mario vibes :)!

Calathea

Calatheas are a beautiful addition to your plant collection. I personally don't have one (yet tehe), but I know a lot of people that love their calatheas. There are several dozen species to choose from with different leaf patterns and even colors! I'm sure you will find one that fits your aesthetic!

Zebra Haworthia

Why settle for the fake plant when you can get the real one! Zebra Haworthia is super easy to care for and one of my favorite succulents. I've had my mother plant for about 3-4 years now and I've already gotten 8-10 new babies from it.

Peperomia

There are so many options to choose from when it comes to Peperomias! They are great plants and are super low-maintenance. My baby rubber plant (featured above) pushes out new leaves all the time and has grown so much. They also propagate easily from cuttings.
