Nashville / Residential Plant Design & Installation in Nashville

Do you want plants, or do you want to keep plants alive?

Interior and exterior plant design for Nashville homes. We select for the light you actually have, install it, and either maintain it or teach you to — and we decide which of those it is before the design, not after.

What a project usually covers

Primary bedroom, living room, covered patios, home office, dining area, entries and guest bedrooms. Most start indoors and add the outside once people realize we do both.

The honest version of the question

Most people asking about residential plant design have already bought plants, twice. The question underneath is not really about design — it is whether this time they will still be alive in a year.

That is a fair question and it has a technical answer. Plants fail in Nashville houses for the same reason they fail in Nashville offices: the house gets heated for months, and the air inside goes far drier than anything the plant evolved for. Choose for that reality at the start and the maintenance question gets much smaller.

We decide the maintenance question first, on purpose

This is the part that separates a design that lasts from one that photographs well. We talk about maintenance at the beginning of the project rather than the end, because it changes what we specify. If we are not going to be maintaining the space, we are not going to hand you a design that needs us.

Most of our residential clients do end up on the maintenance program, and the reason is usually the replacement guarantee — plants we installed that fall below our standard, for a reason within our control, are replaced at no cost.

For clients who would rather handle it themselves, the handover is real: a walkthrough covering care plant by plant, a complimentary check-in two weeks later, and a written care guide covering each individual plant in your house plus general care.

Why we push back sometimes

Occasionally the right advice is not to do the thing you asked for. One client wanted a large plant moved into a larger pot; we explained why that was the wrong move for that plant. Overpotting is one of the most reliable ways to kill a healthy specimen, and it is the most common thing homeowners do with good intentions.

On-site consultation

We walk the space, read the light, and talk through how the room gets used before anything is specified.

Custom plant design

Plant and vessel selection matched to your brand, your light, and the way the space needs to feel.

Delivery and install

Our team pots, places, and cleans up, and leaves care notes for anything you handle yourself.

Ongoing maintenance

Watering, fertilizing, pruning, rotation, and pest treatment on a set schedule, including swapping out anything that stops thriving.

Plant Savvy is the third vendor I have had at our hotel in three years, and Savannah and her team are the only vendor that truly saw our needs and put our ideas into action.
David Norman, Hotel Fraye
I never have to worry about under or over watering. They make sure everything stays healthy, dust the plants, and keep them looking beautiful and thriving year round.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with renters?

Yes. Freestanding containers and specimen plants move with you.

We travel a lot. Is that a problem?

A specification question rather than a dealbreaker — plants tolerant of a missed week exist and look good, and the maintenance program covers the rest.

What does it cost to get started?

A consultation is $250 on site or $125 virtual, and our project minimum is $3,000. The on-site version is the one that produces a real specification, because light has to be measured where the plant will stand.

Do you do outdoor planting for homes too?

Yes — interior and exterior together is the most common residential project we take, and it usually starts as an interior enquiry.
