Nashville / Preserved Moss Wall Installation in Cool Springs, TN
A preserved moss wall is the answer when the wall has no light at all
Preserved moss wall design and installation for Cool Springs offices, lobbies and conference rooms — a green wall for the walls that cannot support a living one.

What it is
Preserved moss. Real moss, harvested and preserved, mounted on panels. It does not grow, so it needs no light, no irrigation, no drainage and no watering.
What it is not
It is not a living green wall. We have built preserved moss walls around town. We have not yet built a true living wall — we are looking for the right project and budget for one, and we would rather say that than sell you something we have not done.
Where it fits in Cool Springs
Interior conference rooms, elevator lobbies, reception walls behind a desk, and any of the deep interior zones that high-performance glazing leaves genuinely dark.
The honest comparison
A living green wall grows. It needs adequate light or supplemental lighting, an irrigation system, drainage, a waterproofing detail against the wall behind it, and a real maintenance route — it is a horticultural system installed into a building. It is also alive, which is the point of it.
A preserved moss wall does none of that. No plumbing, no light, no drainage penetration, no ongoing horticultural maintenance. It reads green, it absorbs sound, and it goes on a wall where nothing living could survive. It is not a cheaper living wall; it is a different product with a different job.
Where it works in this district and where it does not
Works: interior conference rooms with no exterior wall. Reception walls where the logo sits. Elevator lobbies. Corridors on a deep floor plate. Anywhere the light reading came back low enough that the conversation about plants stopped.
Does not work: exteriors, anywhere it will get wet, high-humidity rooms, and anywhere it will be touched constantly — a moss wall at handrail height in a busy corridor will be worn through in a year.
What the build involves
A wall survey, a panel layout, and a mounting detail agreed with whoever owns the wall — which in a leased Cool Springs suite means the landlord, and that conversation happens before fabrication, not after. Then panels are built and installed. Because there is no irrigation, there is no wet trade and no mechanical coordination, which is why moss walls land inside tighter fit-out timelines than almost anything else we do.
Care, such as it is
Keep it dry, keep direct sun off it, and dust it occasionally. That is genuinely the list. If your suite already has us on a weekly or biweekly route, we look at it while we are there. If it does not, a moss wall does not by itself require one.
Frequently asked questions
Is it real moss?
Yes — real moss, preserved. It is not plastic and it is not alive.
Does it need light?
No. That is the entire reason to use it.
Do you build living green walls?
Not yet. We have not built a true living wall and we will not claim one. We are actively looking for the right project. Preserved moss walls we have built and will build.
How long does one take?
Four to six weeks from consultation on a small or medium project, and often at the faster end because there is no irrigation or mechanical coordination.
