Nashville / Restaurant & Retail Plant Design in Franklin, TN
A restaurant plant has to survive dinner service, not a photo shoot
Interior and exterior plant design for Franklin restaurants, cafés and shops — specified for grease, heat, traffic and the fact that nobody on staff has time to water anything.

Design, install, and ongoing care

Hospitality work we have done
Ladybird Taco — all three locations, full design, installation and maintenance, interiors and exteriors. OSA Coffee Roasters — design addition, installation and maintenance, beginning with a care and pest session on their existing collection. Framework — WeHo and East locations, interiors and exteriors.
The market you are opening into
Nashville-market retail ran a 3.5% vacancy rate at $31.07 a square foot in the second quarter of 2026, with 5.2% annual rent growth. The largest retail lease in the metro that quarter was 103,545 square feet at CoolSprings Galleria.
What is arriving
Franklin's 2026 opening list includes The Franklin Butchery on 2nd Avenue, Truce on Mallory Lane, Pelato at Galleria Boulevard, SOS Counter in Park West, and L.L. Bean's first Tennessee store at CoolSprings Galleria.
The failure modes are specific and they are not about light
Restaurant plants die from things that never come up in an office. Airborne grease from a line, which coats leaves and makes them a dust magnet within two weeks. Heat and dry air at a pass or near a pizza oven. Chair backs and bus tubs, in every banquette and every aisle. And staff kindness — a glass of water tipped into a pot several times a shift, which is the single most common cause of death in a dining room.
We specify around all four. Cleanable leaf surfaces where grease is in play, vessels heavy and stable enough not to migrate, placement out of the service path, and — this matters — a written instruction that nobody on staff waters anything, because we do it on route.
What retail needs instead
A shop's plants are merchandising. They have to hold a sightline from the door, survive a window with far more direct sun than any office ever sees, and be movable when the floor set changes for a season. Storefront windows in downtown Franklin get genuinely harsh western light in summer; the plant that thrives there is not the plant that thrives four feet behind it.
The patio is a separate program, and it should be
Franklin restaurants live on their patios eight months a year. Exterior work runs on its own thirteen-step process — the interior fifteen plus weed removal, deadheading, seasonal cutbacks, irrigation line checks and hose discipline. Hard prunes happen in winter; Russian sage and catmint get a third cut back mid-summer. Exterior trash cleanup is not part of the service, and we would rather say that here than surprise a GM with it.
If you are opening, talk to us before the millwork
The cheapest time to solve drainage, floor loading and where a hose bib is going to live is on a drawing. Four to six weeks from consultation to install on a small or medium project; $3,000 project minimum; weekly maintenance from $350.

Plant Savvy is the third vendor I have had at our hotel in three years, and Savannah and her team are the only vendor that truly saw our needs and put our ideas into action.
I never have to worry about under or over watering. They make sure everything stays healthy, dust the plants, and keep them looking beautiful and thriving year round.
Frequently asked questions
Will the plants survive a kitchen?
The ones we put near a kitchen will, because we choose them for that. We do not put a fussy specimen next to a fryer and hope.
Can staff water them between visits?
Please don't. Overwatering by well-meaning staff is the most common cause of plant death in a restaurant. We probe soil moisture at every visit and water what needs it.
Do you do the exterior containers and the interior?
Yes, both, as we do for all three Ladybird Taco locations.
How often do you come?
Weekly or biweekly. For a busy dining room weekly is usually the right call.
