Where this work is
Belle Meade, Forest Hills, Oak Hill and Green Hills. Median home value in Forest Hills is $1,413,100 and in Oak Hill $1,199,600; Belle Meade's is recorded at the Census Bureau's top-coded maximum, meaning at least $2 million.
Named work
Sylvan Park Garden Retreat — a private home, inside and out: design, installation and the maintenance that keeps it that way.
What a project usually covers
Entries, the living room, the primary bedroom, guest bedrooms, a home office, the dining area and covered patios. Most begin indoors and add the exterior once people realize we do both.
The problem with a wall of glass
Contemporary luxury construction in Nashville is built around glazing — the Four Seasons residences occupy the top twenty-five floors of a forty-story tower with floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies that blend into the glass facade, and the same language runs through new custom work across Forest Hills and Green Hills.
That glass is not the light budget people assume. High-performance glazing is specified to reject solar heat, and a good deal of what it rejects is the part of the spectrum a plant uses. A room that feels flooded with daylight can read at a fraction of the expected level on a meter three feet inside the window line. Meanwhile the seating area twenty feet back is a different plant list entirely.
Design decided around maintenance, deliberately
We settle the maintenance question at the start of a residential project rather than the end, because it changes what we specify. If we are not going to be maintaining the house, we will not hand over a design that requires us.
Most of our residential clients do end up on the program, and the reason is generally the replacement guarantee — plants we installed that fall below our standard, for a reason within our control, replaced at no cost. For clients who prefer to handle it themselves the handover is a walkthrough covering care plant by plant, a complimentary check-in two weeks later, and a written guide covering each individual plant in the house.
Discretion
A number of our Williamson County residential projects are under non-disclosure while their owners wait on publication. We mention that only to explain why the named work on this page is shorter than the work behind it.
On-site consultation
We walk the space, read the light, and talk through how the room gets used before anything is specified.
Custom plant design
Plant and vessel selection matched to your brand, your light, and the way the space needs to feel.
Delivery and install
Our team pots, places, and cleans up, and leaves care notes for anything you handle yourself.
Ongoing maintenance
Watering, fertilizing, pruning, rotation, and pest treatment on a set schedule, including swapping out anything that stops thriving.

I never have to worry about under or over watering. They make sure everything stays healthy, dust the plants, and keep them looking beautiful and thriving year round.
Plant Savvy is the third vendor I have had at our hotel in three years, and Savannah and her team are the only vendor that truly saw our needs and put our ideas into action.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work with our architect or interior designer?
Routinely, and earlier is better. Interior planting is specified under CSI 12 92 00 and treated as FF&E, so it can be budgeted alongside furniture rather than left to the end.
We have a wall of glass. Does that solve the plant problem?
Less than you would think. High-performance glazing rejects a real share of the spectrum plants use, and the far side of a large room is a separate specification.
Can you handle the exterior as well?
Yes — entries, terraces, courtyards and pool areas, with seasonal rotation, pruning and fertilization on a separate exterior program.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes. Several of our residential clients are covered by one.
What does a project start at?
Consultations run $250 on site or $125 by video. The project minimum is $3,000.
