Port Royal Marketplace: a 46,000 square foot GBT Realty center at Duplex and Port Royal, anchored by a 23,000 square foot Sprouts with 16,000 square feet of inline shops, a 6,800 square foot shop building and three outparcels, with construction slated to start in early 2026 for early-2027 completion. Installing into a building nobody has moved into yet
New construction is the easiest planting environment we work in and the easiest one to get wrong on timing. Easiest, because the floor is clear, the loading is accessible and nothing has to be worked around. Wrong, because plants delivered before the building is conditioned sit in an unheated or unhumidified shell, and because the last two weeks before opening are the busiest fortnight of the entire project for everyone involved.
Our sequence: walk the space with drawings, take light readings once the glazing is in, design, then install after the space is conditioned and clean but before the opening rush. Four to six weeks from consultation to install on a small or medium project.
The things that are cheap on a drawing and expensive after
Floor loading for large vessels. Drainage — whether a planter can be watered where it stands or has to be built with a reservoir. Hose bib and spigot access for exterior containers. Whether there is a service path wide enough to bring a replacement specimen in later, which is the one nobody thinks about until the first replacement.

No. Install-only is a real option and we have done it, including at The Factory at Franklin.
What is the minimum project?
$3,000. Consultation $250 on site, $125 virtual.
Can you plant the exterior containers at the same time?
Yes. The exterior work runs on its own thirteen-step program afterwards.
How far in advance should we call?
Four to six weeks before you want plants in the room, at minimum.
