The market you are competing in
Downtown Nashville held 14,129 hotel rooms in the second quarter of 2026, with 1,515 more under construction across four projects and 7,907 planned across thirty-one hotels.
What "hospitality-grade" actually means
Gaylord Opryland runs roughly nine acres of indoor garden atriums held at a constant 72 degrees. Most hotels are not doing that. What they are doing is asking a lobby planting to look composed at 6am and at midnight, seven days a week.
What a hotel does to a plant that an office does not
The lobby is lit all night. The doors open several hundred times a day, which means the plants nearest them live in a column of outdoor air — 90-degree July, 39-degree January. Housekeeping runs a schedule that has nothing to do with a watering cycle. And every square foot is photographed by guests, constantly, which is a standard no office lobby is held to.
None of that is unsolvable. All of it has to be designed for rather than discovered.
Nashville's hotel stock splits three ways, and each one plants differently
Most of it is new construction — 14,129 downtown rooms with another 1,515 going up. Those are glass-forward lobbies with generous ceiling height, good light near the façade and very little of it thirty feet in.
Then there is the adaptive reuse, which is where Nashville gets interesting. The Printing House on Third Avenue South, the Historic Morris Building on Charlotte, and Soho House inside the 1908 May Hosiery mill in Wedgewood-Houston — a four-acre complex redeveloped into 175,000 square feet of office, retail and hospitality. Those buildings have small original windows, thick masonry and mechanical systems retrofitted long after the walls went up.
Third is resort scale, where Gaylord Opryland's nine acres of atriums under glass is genuinely its own category.

Frequently asked questions
Can you service during hours that do not disrupt guests?
Yes. Hotel scheduling is set with the property rather than dropped on it, and it changes when your event calendar does.
What about the plants right by the entrance doors?
Those are their own specification. A plant fifteen feet inside a door that opens five hundred times a day is experiencing a different climate from one in the same room by the elevators.
Do you do exterior as well — patios, entries, rooftops?
Yes. Exterior planting, large architectural planters and ongoing garden maintenance including seasonal rotations, pruning, fertilization and plant health monitoring.
We are a historic conversion with very little natural light. Is that workable?
Yes, and it is common in Nashville — May Hosiery, the Printing House, the Morris Building. Low light is a plant list, not a dealbreaker, and where a room genuinely cannot support what the design needs we install grow lighting. We did exactly that for HMC Civil Rights Law.
